    3. Hi Cousins! Here are a couple obits sent to me by a Gentry cousin. We're looking for possibly any information on the children of Roderick E. Gentry And Rosa Ashley Gentry. These are Johnson Co. Tn. Gentrys. Roderick was the son of James D. Gentry. James D. Gentry was the son of John J. Gentry & Theodosia "Dicie" Greer. John J. Gentry was the son of David Gentry and Sarah Buckner Gentry. Anyone on the list related to these people? Thanks Norma June 26, 1952 Johnson County New-Bulletin Roderick E. Gentry Roderick E. (Uncle Rod) Gentry, 75, Rt. 2 Mountain City, Tennessee died at 8:45 June 11 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rosa Gentry and the following children: Mrs Gay Deavers, Mrs Victoria Waters, and Mrs Charlotte Rauch, all of Pittsburg, Pa., Mrs Nina Addison, Deland Fla., George Gentry of Holden, W. Virginia, Jessie Gentry of Wilmington, Del., Lewis M. Gentry of Westfield, Mass., and Mrs. Cleda Neade Detroit, Mich. ; two sisters, Mrs. Lola Dutton and Mrs Gussie Rash both of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee; and 17 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 Sunday afternoon at the St. John's Methodist Church, Laurel Bloomery with the Rev. A.S. Clear and the Rev. John Hutchinson officiating. Burial followed in the family cemetery. The Tomahawk, Wednesday, April 12, 1967 Mrs. Rosa Gentry . . . Mrs. Rosa Gentry, age 87, died in St. Johns General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. on March 25th at 12:45 after a long illness. Mrs. Gentry had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. John Bischoff in Pittsburgh for the past 14 years. She was the widow of the late R.E. Gentry. They lived at Laurel Bloomery for several years prior to his death in 1952. She was a native of Ashe County, N.C. and Johnson County, and was the daughter of the late David and Nancy Graybeal Ashley. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include the following children: Mrs. John Bischoff, Mrs. Elmer Roach and George Gentry of Pittsburgh, Pa., Lewis Gentry of West Spring, Mass., Jess Gentry and Mrs. Nina Belcher of DeLand, Fla., and Mrs. Grover Hutchinosn(sic), Shady Valley. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from St. Michael Church in Pittsburgh by Rev. Paul F. Kokenda and Rev. Bernard A. Bischoff.
