For the correspondent who was inquiring about Levi Gentry, b. abt 1806 in SC, and present in the 1850 Wayne Co., MO census. Levi is also in the 1840 Wayne Co. census, and before that can be found in 1830 in St. Clair Co., Illinois. Levi is listed with a Yimri Gentry (note that Levi named one son, Zimri, undoubtedly for this man). Yimri appears to be too young to be Levi's father, but may have been an older brother or an uncle. Yimri in turn is undoubtedly one of the two Zimriah Gentrys in Washington Co., IL in 1820. How Levi ties back to SC is very difficult to determine. The fact that Robert Gentry of Edgefield District, SC (son of Hezekiah) had a son Levi suggests that the Missouri Levi was a part of Hezekiah's extended family, though it is difficult to identify any of Hezekiah's great-grandsons who were of the right age in 1810, who were not in SC also in 1820. The SC Levi had no sons of the right age so he was not the father of his namesake.
