I have several family sites on MYFamily.com and have never had a notice telling me to upgrade and/or pay a fee or loose the free sites by a certain date. There is no such notice on any of the sites either. This is all new to me and I've had sites for over 5 years. I have written to them asking about the June 23rd deadline you refer to and should get a reply within the next 2 business days. When I do, I'll let you know! Thanks! Just my opinion on the fee for myfamily.com sites: these are PRIVATE sites for family or invited persons to visit or join......many of us who have them have lots of wonderful contributions on them, I personally dont think is NOT a waste of paying the extra fee to keep the sites. What we have all contributed on others sites as guests too, I compare to having our own little genealogy book of ancestry and well worth the extra fee to keep it going.....esp when you compare to what you have to pay to belong to genealogy.com or ancestry.com.....they are, in my opinion, worth keeping. There really is no where else with the format that myfamily.com offers to have such a wonderful compilation of ancestry info which inc photos, history, files, news, birthdays, anniv..etc......I sure hope that the Gentry folks that have the Tx Gentry site keeps them going. thanks.
