Birth dates are gross estimates, based on known dates for the children of Elizabeth Gentry and Ezekial Williams. On page 305, I have David Gentry born ~1770-1780 married Mary Buffington, and on page 307, they had Elizabeth Gentry b~1808, Isabel Gentry ~1809, and Patience Gentry b~1810. Mary Buffington's family is traceable back 3 more generations to Ludovic Grant, but there is nothing more on David Gentry until he appears married to Tiana Rogers. Note A-6 says: David Gentry, a blacksmith, was also the first husband of Tiana Rogers, who was his niece (his first wife's 1/2 sister's child). Gabreil Gentry b ~1825, and Joanna Gentry b ~1826. Tiana Rogers ~1803 GRA-1.1.2.1.4 David Gentry (b~1780), and Samuel Houston (1st president of Texas): Gabreil Gentry ~1825 GRA-1.1.2.1.4.1 Joanna Gentry ~1826 GRA-1.1.2.1.4.2 Starr lists no spouses for these Gentry girls. These ladies do not appear under their maiden names in the Final Dawes Roll, so we can assume that they were listed under a married name, or died without issue before 1900. On page 370, I have a Lucinda Gentry married to Andrew Ross b~1815, his brother Joseph Ross married Pricilla Gentry, apparently the sister of Lucinda. These girls appear to be Isabel and Patience Gentry, due to their appearance on the Dawes Application rolls, listed as 'parents' under the family name ROSS. On the Dawes Application Rolls, In one case, I have the wife of Andrew Ross listed as Lucinda, in another I have his wife listed as Isabella. Their listed children are born between 1850 and 1865. This places their parents dates of birth between 1820-1835. They had Jesse (1851), Robert (1853), Mary (1860), and William (1864). On the Dawes Application Rolls, I have the wife of Joseph Ross listed as Pricilla. They were the parents of Eliza (Elizabeth) Ross (born 1850).
