5/1/03 I know of the spelling as Raleigh but I do have a copy from Annette in Utah of a hand written paper from the holdings of the Texas State Archives where he signed himself as Roley Gentry. Maybe it was changed after that letter which is dated Dec., 1860 with signature of E.F. Edwards, Clerk Co Court Llano. This was payment requested through his attorney,Wm. Haynie (spelling of last name is not clear) for his service as a Ranger in the Llano Company Minute Men commanded by Lt. Gideon T. Cowain. My thought has been that his name as signed was correct but I respect the family's spelling also. I want to try to get another copy from the holdings of the Texas State Archives as soon as possible with any other Gentry information that they may have there. Good to hear from you. T.
