After a cursory glance through the information cited, it is so full of errors, that a reader really needs to take far more time to check out each individual entry than it is worth. I suggest it is far better to access a list such as World Connect where one can find multiple entries for individuals and you can choose the ones that are most likely to be correct. Errors include dates, places and relationships. e.g. Allen Cain Gentry listed as dying in 1791 in Jackson Co., AL (long before AL was ever open for settlement and in spite of the fact that Allen Cain is in the 1800 census in Edgefield Dist., SC again: "161. Allen Gentry b. 1788 SC. D. Nov. 19, 1842 Carrollville, Tishmingo, MS. m. [1] Rebecca Motes, m. [2] Rebecca Reeves about 1830 Alleghany Co. NC. d/o George Reeves and Jane Osborne." These are two completely different Allen's, one a descendant of David-III Gentry and the other a descendant of Nicholas-III Gentry. The children listed are a mixture of children as well. My Gentry's are from Salem, Cumberland, & Gloucester Co's, NJ. And, so far, are NOT related to the southern families,(NC,SC,VA etc)or any other Gentry line. I've tried for years to connect to the 1909 book without luck. William & Thomas Gentry of NJ were mentioned, but not connected. I (at this time) think that my (NJ) Gentry's are German not English. I read that William (below)had brothers Moses, Ebenezer, 2 others & some sisters. I haven't found anything out about Moses, Ebenezer or the other siblings so I check all leads. As of 11/20/02, Moses Gentry, of Cumberland Co., NJ, Letters of administration granted by Joseph Moore, Surrogate, on 6 Dec 1854, to William Gentry. There is also mention of a Moses Gentry serving in the war of 1812. WILLIAM GENTRY & MARGARET HECTOR were married in Salem Co., NJ, 8 Dec 1803. Gentry b Jan. 1850 in Ms (probably Tishomingo Co.) m Martha J. Evans b Aug 1852. (They lived in the Baldwin, MS area which before 1870 was Tishomingo Co. In 1870 Tishomingo (created 1836) was divided into Alcorn, Prentis and Tishomingo Counties. Hi, I can't find your original request e-mail. I will presume this is Ellen. The only Minerva Gentry that I found was b. March 26, 1839. d. Boonesboro, Madison KY. She was the dau. of Jane Kindred and Richard Gentry. Now this is not set in stone. I will try to look further and see if I can find you another one that might be what you are looking for. I have so many sheets of paper around here that I don't know how to correlate. Do you find that you go to the library or the internet and you find all this lovely information and then you can't find how it fits. I have a tendency to do too many names at a time.
