    3. Ed, The dates for Robert M. Gentry family seem to have come from the research of Dennis E. Gentry, of the Cumberland Co. Ky. A timeline was posted for the Gentry family in the South Central Ky. area on that list back in 1998. It also was posted on the Gentry list, with Sandi Gorin's permission. It was originally published in the historical society's publication Tracers. I don't know when the original was written. It does have Robert M. Gentry's death date of 1909. BUT, I found the following listing in the Ky. Death Index. It seems more reasonable since Robert M. was definitely in the 1920 census. GENTRY ROBERT M Age: 067 County: CUMBERLAND Death date: 06-29-1924 Vol. 027 Cert. Robert M Gentry <http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dougmoore&id=I02148> was born ABT. 1855 in Monroe Co, KY, and died 4 JAN 1909 in Monroe Co, KY. He was the son of 2. He married Elvira Bertram <http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dougmoore&id=I03558> ABT. 1879 in KY. He married Louisa Turner <http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dougmoore&id=I03559> ABT. 1884. Child of Robert M Gentry and Louisa Turner is: Effie Gentry <http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dougmoore&id=I03561> was born ABT. 1885 in Monroe Co, KY. She married Victor Wisdom <http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dougmoore&id=I03657> ABT. 1908 They have his death as 4 JAN 1909, but in the 1900 Census for Cumberland County he is listed with his wife Louisa and children Effie and Otha, which is not a problem but if you look at the 1920 Census for Cumberland County, Sheet 12A he is listed on line 21 and his wife Louisa on line 22. Otha and his family start on line 8. Does anyone by chance have any documentation of the death record for the 1909 listing?

    3. Thanks for catching that. I enlarged the image more and it is indeed Andrew J. BUT, they had him listed as female! That's what makes this stuff difficult! 3. Hi, Paul has done a lot of research and is still living though old and frail. He actually was raised In the home with Nancy Ann Nichols Gentry and Nancy Frazier Gentry Berry. Both Nancy's lived with Aunt Molly, his mother. Nancy Ann Nichols Gentry moved with them to Loving, NM where she died. He is a delight to talk to. Aunt Molly is buried in the Gritt Cemetary along with Bate and Nancy Berry. Paul and his wife Elizabeth's markers are already in place there. They will be buried there though both of them are still alive. Paul's daughter has all information and will be carrying on his research. Grandma Nancy Nichols Gentry is buried in Carlsbad. Paul wanted to move her to the Gritt Cemetary also but the cemetary records were destroyed in a fire and markers had been vandalized. Alas, no one can remember which grave was hers. I am cannot say that the omission of the girls or the young son who was deceased was in fact error as much as it was tradition. This family I grew up in did not recognize the women as they did the men, nor were the children who died ever mentioned. Your information and research is great, I thank you and appreciate you.
