I apologize to all on my lists, who may have been inconvenienced by any mail directed to me, and if it bounced, it is because of the many (100 and more some days) emails with attachments I have received. I have had to set my spam filter as a result, but now I have directed my webmail account to receive the messages from the lists to which I am subscribed. Virginia
metoo, but I doubt it was the list.....I think it is just the way this one does. No, you cannot get a virus through a rootsweb mail list. Rootsweb has anti virus controls in place to prevent them. They don't allow attachments for that reason. The current problems are widespread, and everyone is having the same problem. The newest bug falsifies addresses, making it look like it is coming from someone in particular, when in fact, it is not at all. This should all pass in a few days. Just keep deleting and don't open any attachments. Norma - Gentry-L list admin. At 02:59 PM 8/21/2003 -0600, you wrote: >Did this mailing list get infected with the sobig virus? Hi All, I have a new email address: vidagbeall@bellsouth.net My Gentry line goes back to Nicholas by way of Stephen Pleasant Gentry and his father, Abednego Gentry. Vida
To All, My mother Emma Gene Gentry is currently not able to take care of her e-mail messages as she is recuperating from partial hip replacement surgery. Please remove her name (temporarily) from your site list so we can better handle the load of e-mails that come in. Mom will send you an e-mail to let you know when she feels like she can again receive e-mails. Thanks, David Gentry
I have also been getting these types of emails and they are also saying that I have sent them and they are bouncing back but I never did send them. There is a huge virus that is also going on around campus here at UT wanting people to open attachements. So beware of these, do not open! ----- Original Message ----- From: Virginia Flesher <vflesher@onemain.com> To: <GENTRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 19, 2003 8:09 PM Subject: [Gentry] attachments not from me > I have just been bombarded with about 20 attachments. Those things have been driving everyone nuts today. I had a couple come in that even Roadrunner's filters and my Nortons did not catch. So...everyone be careful. It's getting nasty out there. Everyone please do an update on your Nortons or whichever program you use. There are several new vi*rus that have just appeared in the last couple days. I have just been bombarded with about 20 attachments. So far, none seem to contain a virus. I also received one where it appeared I had tried to send it and it bounced. If anyone receives an attachment from me and you are not expecting it, don't open it, and if anyone has received any of these nuisance attachments from an email address they are familiar with, just beware.

Hi Cousins, I learned last night that one of our cousins and long-time contributor to the Gentry family, Emma Gene Gentry, has had an accident. Sunday she fell and broke a hip. I understand she is having surgery on it. Her daughter didn't know exactly what they were going to do. If anyone would like to send her a get well card, you can send it to the following address: Emma Gene Gentry 3311 Clearview Dr. Austin, TX 78703 Her daughter asked that we Please DO NOT send email messages to her. When I hear anything more, I will let you know her progress. I have been trying to access the site "GentryJournal" but I keep getting the message "Page Cannot be Displayed"...Can you help me access the site? Ellen Medicine Woman <medicinewoman_1943@yahoo.com> wrote: 2003, W.M. Gentry - All rights reserved. Revision Subsequent to posting the May issue of this Journal, Annette Penrod of Ogden, UT pointed out a fact that the author overlooked, namely that a Roland Gentry listed in the 1840 Pulaski County, AR census was probably the same individual as the Rowland Gentry who married Nancy Mattocks in 1823 in Hall County, GA. The writer was aware of the Arkansas record but did not connect it with the Rowland of Hall County. He was not aware of the fact that a Nancy Gentry was married in Pulaski County in 1849, which strengthens considerably the probability that this was Roland's widow. In the interests of maximum accuracy, it has seemed best that a corrected version of this month's Journal issue be posted as soon as practical. As a consequence, all references to Rolly and Roland Gentry in the original article have been reviewed and revised as necessary. http://www.gentryjournal.com ===== Medicine Woman's Vision-"Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children.
