Hi everyone :) I'm looking for information on an Elizabeth Gentry who married Neel Thompson and had a daughter Sarah or Sally Thompson who was born in 1791 in Virginia. Sarah (or Sally) was married in 1812 in Davidson Co., Tenn., so it is probably that her parents had moved there. Maternal lines are often so difficult! Thanks, Sharon

I am forwarding the following information from Deep South Roots list: I've communicated with Sandi Gorin many times through the past few years and she has been very active in genealogy. I've now learned that she has some serious medical problems. Below are two messages I've received. Hello Cousins; We have a very good genealogy friend in need of our help. Please read the rest of this message. Sandi Goran has helped ALL of us. If you haven't talked to her directly, you have had the benefit of her work, even though you may not realize it. She has contributed as much to genealogy on-line as anyone there is. Sandi is a single Mom, living in KY. She has two daughters and an ageing Mother. That's about it. Her daughters are 2 of the most wonderful young people I have ever known. Her only income is the little she makes through the sale of some of her own copywrited genealogy books. She won't be able to get back to that for several weeks. She has not asked for our help, except in prayer, but she needs us in other ways also. She has a small insurance policy with a $2000 deductable. Then the insurance pays 80 percent of a very limited list of things. The Dr. had to call a board meeting with the insurance company just to get her MRI paid for today.....and it isn't going to pay ALL of it. She has already accumulated thousands of dollars worth of medical bills that she has no idea how she will pay. Recently she has undergone removal of a dangerous cyst on her arm, and had hospital treatment for a kidney problem. She has no savings and no rich relatives. She really needs us right now. This is a very scary thing she is about to go through. She has a large mass either on her ovaries or uterus. She will undergo exploratory surgery on Friday. That should not be compunded with worries over money. I am letting you know that I am working today to set up a bank account, hopefully at a bank near Sandi's home. This will be a fund to help Sandi with hospital and Dr. bills and living expenses. I will get back to you asap with the details, but PLEASE, cousins, lets all pitch in and do what we can. If you can send alot, please do so, if you can only send a little, please do so. I will be putting a page up on the CRR website, to keep you informed of everything happening in the process. As I said, I will be back later with the details on how you can help Sandi financially. In the meantime, please remember her in your prayers, as she would all of us. Sincerely, Margy <[email protected]> ----- and ----- Hello again Cousins; I have set up an account for Sandi's medical fund at her local bank in Glasgow, KY. Please go to the following website for more information or to PRINT A DEPOSIT SLIP to send with your contribution. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/6808/ The link is very easily spotted. But for those on the lists without Internet access. You may send your contribution to; Trans Financial Bank 200 S. Green Street P.O. You may also include a personal note for Sandi if you like. The bank has promised to save all those for Sandi. If any of you would feel better calling the bank before sending your money, I understand. The toll free number is; 1-800-739-6790. You will need to ask to be transferred to the Glasgow bank at the address above. This number will give you the Bowling Green main office. I'm not sure but you might need to give Kay Sewell's name. That will be 10pm Eastern time and 7pm western. At that time, please stop whatever your doing and join us in a silent moment of prayer for Sandi. Thanks, Norma
Cousins, There's some very distressing news. Sandi Gorin, the lady that so generously shared all the Gentry Timeline information with us is seriously ill. She will be undergoing major, major surgery this coming Friday morning. If any of you are so inclined, she can use all the prayers we can say! This is a very serious operation, and we are all praying she comes through it and be restored to good health. If anyone wants to send her a card, send it to Sandi Gorin, 205 Clements Ave, Glasgow, Ky., 42141-3409 Norma

Hi everyone, I've come upon a picture says Oma and Gar Gentry on the back and the front says Ada, Oklahoma . There's know year, but from the looks of it is probably late 1800's early 1900's. I don't know these names and can't connect them to my line in any way except that our family has this picture. Anyone out there have a Oma or Gar ? Also any of you that have the names Herrin/Herion (other varients ), Chapman, Jay, Henley/Hendley, Mayfield, Carr, Thomas, in Ky, TN, Ark., Texas or Okla. I would love to here from you. I'm still looking for my gg-grandfather John Clinton Herrin who can't be found in TN, but was related to the Gentry's & Hendley's in Ky also. It's my believe that JC's family lived in close proximity with the KY. Gentry's. Anybody got somebody that sounds like him.? Later Bobbye
