    2. <> Dear Karen: Thank you for your e-mail. I used to live in Platte City. Now we live in Kansas City, MO, but we go to Platte City often. I have checked for Isom Gentry but the only thing I have been able to find is that he is the father of Polly (Gentry) McCollom b. 1806 and Elizabeth (Gentry) Kuykendall b. 1810 in KY. There is a quote in "Paxton Annals" about him but it only states "Isom Gentry was another good old pioneer of backwoods memory." My husband is also related to another Gentry line which is as follows: Samuel Nicholas Nicholas II David David, Jr. Pleasant Pleasant, Jr. James Georgia Elizabeth Roy Eugene (Gene) Werline (my husband) Are you related to any of the above Gentrys? We did not know until recently that he is related to another Gentry (Isom) and would like to learn his ancestry. Thanks for your help. We really appreciate it. Lois

    3. Hi Group! This information is from my last issue of the Gentry Family Gazette. The Gentry Family of America is available from Higginson Books at 148-GH Washington St, Salem, Massachusetts, 01970. This is a "press copy" of the original book and includes the 1937 "Addenda" of 15 pages by William Gentry. Higginson takes an order for a book, copies and binds the pages, the process taking about 10 weeks. The price is only $49 including shipping. You can reach Higginson at (508) 745-7170 and you should very difinitely call them and verify cost and shipping information before ordering. Their hours are 10am to 7pm eastern time, Monday through Friday. Happy hunting! Norma

    3. If you can't find a copy of the Richard GENTRY book at a library, I once knew of someone who got a microfilm or microfiche of it at LDS and copied it. I would like to see it reprinted, although I understand there were mistakes in it. At one time, Leland Homer GENTRY of Salt Lake City, was gathering data on GENTRY, with aspirations of publishing a book, but the last I heard, he was having health problems. Does anyone know about Homer's health? It has been several years since I corresponded with him. 2. Hi Gentry's, This note is in response to the inquires about purchasing a copy of THE GENTRY FAMILY IN AMERICA. I ordered 6 copies during the 1978 reprint of the book - one for each of my 3 ch and the others for myself and sisters. My sons have decided they have no desire to collect family books so I may as well sell the 2 set aside for them. These books are still new, unused, and will be sold for my purchase price of $35.00. If you are interested e-mail me at: [email protected] (my line is #263 Simon, #264 Richard thru his son John)
