    1. Nicholas to Samuel to Simon?
    2. I thought I would submit my work-in-progress line for your comments, helps, etc. Nicholas Gentry (abt.1655 Essexshire, England-1736 Hanover, Va.) married Lucy Cornelius (abt. 1660 New Kent Co., Va.- ? Va.) -Samuel Gentry (1696 New Kent Co., Va.-abt 1755) -married Ann (Allen?) --Simon (1733-abt. 1792) --married Susanna Brown 9 May 1760 (father possibly John Brown?) ---Elizabeth (called Betty?) (1764 Va.- ? Davidson Co., Tenn.) ---married Neel Thompson (abt. 1762- ?) ----Sarah or Sally Thompson (1791 Va.-1857) ----married in Davidson Co., Tenn. to ----Thomas Stroud (27 Aug. 1791 Burke Co. N.C.-7 Mar 1858 Logan Co., Ill.) and on down to me. My only proofs on the Gentry's are: Simon's will, which lists Betty Thompson as a daughter and Neel Thompson as an executor Simon Genty's marriage record to Susanna Brown (stupid question alert--the marriage record lists John Brown as a surety--what does that mean?) Thanks for any help! Sharon
