    2. Diana Flynn
    3. Found this bio and thought I would share it with everyone. As far as I know, I'm not researching this particular branch of the Gentry tree. Diana GENTRY, STRINGER, SMITH Counties of Morgan, Monroe and Brown, Indiana. Historical and Biographical. Charles Blanchard, Editor. Chicago: F. A. Battey & Co., Publishers, 1884 MORGAN COUNTY ADAMS TOWNSHIP PAGE 302 ELERSON GENTRY, farmer and stock-raiser, is a native of Hendricks County, Ind.; was born January 19, 1833, and is the eldest son of Garland and Susan (Stringer) Gentry, natives of Kentucky, and of English extraction. The grand- parents of our subject were natives of Virginia, lived in Kentucky, and removed to and farmed in Indiana. Garland Gentry moved from Kentucky to this State about 1831, thence to this township, and subsequently to Texas, Arkansas, and again to Indiana, where he now lives in retirement, aged seventy-seven years. He is a Democrat, a member of the Christian Church. Was twice married, and is the father of three children by the first and nine by the second marriage. Elerson Gentry was reared a farmer by his father, whom he accompanied to Texas and Arkansas; resided in Missouri four years; returned to Hendricks County, Ind., and thence to this conty. When twenty-one years of age, he left his father's house to struggle for himself, and worked for three years by the month; then leased land for several years; finally purchased eighty acres of his father-in- law's estate, and now owns, in addition, eighty acres west of Mud Creek. December 29, 1855, he married Miss Mary M. Smith, of this county, born February 2, 1838. This union produced six children--Theresa A., Franklin A., Susan A., William A., Mary Etta and Thomas A. Mr. Gentry is a Free- mason and a Democrat, and he and wife are worthy members of the Christ- ian Church.

    3. Fred: Don't think they are related to mine but, you never know. You might want to check out my website as I have all the names I'm doing research on plus pedigree charts of mine and my husbands direct line. It's at: http://www.angelfire.com/tx/TerrysChaos/GENNAMES.html If you've already been to my site, I thank you and disregard the above, if you haven't, come on in and check it out. One other thing that has nothing to do with genealogy. Are you related to any Groth's in Austin? I grew up in Austin (I now live in Plano) and knew a girl named Jeanette Groth who graduated with me in 1973 from David Crockett HS. Just checking ö¿ö Thanks, Terry (Gross) Sutton P.S. 1. Henry D. GENTRY
    2. A Thyme To Plant Herb Farm, Inc.
    3. I am wondering if anyone on this list has researched Henry D. GENTRY. I have found what I believe to be part of the orginal estate (from the land grant), and the last GENTRY owner was listed as Henry D. GENTRY, who inherited it from his father's estate. Henry married Martha (Patsy) TIMBERLAKE on 7 January 1808. His will was proven in 1852 with the provision that the land be sold and the proceeds be divided among his children. I am attempting to make the connection between Henry and the early progenitors, Samuel and Nicholas I. If anyone has any information, please respond either by way of this list or e-mail. This may be of interest to other GENTRY researchers. Marianne M. Ritchie/VA [email protected]

    1. GENTRY MATERIALS FOR SALE
    2. Diana Pearson White
    3. I have some Gentry materials I want to sell as a set, including the Gentry Family Gazette and Genealogy, later it became the Gentry Family Gazette and Genealogy Exchange. The set consists of Vol. II-Vol. X. The issues are Numbers 9-61, dating from Feb 1981 to Jan 1996. Each Volume averages approx. 150 pages. Also, most of the volumes have an annual index. A 1993 price list indicates the cost of Vol 1-VIII was $225.00 to buy as a reprinted set. Since this set does not have Vol I but includes Vol XI, the cost would be equal. Furthermore, I have a copy of The Gentry Family in America: 1676-1909 by Richard Gentry, Ph. B., M.S. This book is a Xerox copy from Xerox University Microfilms. Again, I am interested in selling the Gentry Family Gazette and the book, The Gentry Family in America as a set. [email protected]
