Hi Sandy, I have used refills for quite some time, and never had any problem with it. I buy mine at the computer stores, but I know they can be ordered online. It works out a lot cheaper for me as I do a lot of printing. There is little to no mess in filling the cartridge, the hardest part to it is opening the cartridge the first time. Hope this helps.
