Dear Jennifer, According to my book, " A to Zax A comprehensive Dictionary for Genealogists & Historians" A Hicksite Quaker : a conservative branch of the Society of Friends ( Quaker) church. They did not believe that women should participate in the church service, nor should any member join a reform movement.
