Scrip has been used in recent times. A few years back the State of New York paid its state employees in scrip when the NYS budget did not get passed in time. Most banks accepted it in lieu of a regular paycheck and let the employees get cash from it. However, stores, etc. that normally cashed paychecks did not cash the scrip documents in most cases. New York continues with late budgets, but the last few years we have been paid with regular checks. M. Scheffler Betty Davis wrote: > > How was scrip used?
