I received a look up which I am very grateful for but I need some help with it. First My g-grandfather was known here in the US as Charley Olson. It was not until I saw a copy of his obit that I learned his name was Carl Olson. On some documents I have found Carl but on most such as birth certificates I have found Charley and then on some Charles. I understand the Charley /Charles thing but how did he use both Carl and Charles. To further this I can't seem to find immigration papers in either name. Does any one know how to either confirm the name Carl as being legal or Charles? The look up I received was from Sweden states: Olson Carl 1864 17 M 1881-04-15 Gestad P Arnot 17:290:12578 G I have no idea what the numbers mean. I have his birth date as July 30 1863.
