You might also try looking in the Family history Library Catalog - which is also on the LDS Library computers (and on fiche). You can search this for surnames (in case you have published information regarding that particular surname), but you can also search it for your locality. This can provide you with records/books/microfilm/fiche that may be available to search in your area (Taverniti) that may lead you further down your search path.
