    3. Hi Marcia, I just wanted to send you a quick note to tell you that I know exactly what you are going through. When I first started doing Gen. online, I was Kelly Green and knew nothing of "Cyberstalkers". I sent a response to a request and was immediately jumped upon by someone known as "LarArabia". He/She, too sent me horrible msgs. and threatened to have me removed from the net, "ya-da, ya-da, ya-da" as they say. I could not get my server to do anything about it---and, believe me they do have ways of stopping this sort of thing---so I sent my msg. to the Abuse Board. And, I must apologize for not sending you the address, but when my computer crashed a while back, I lost the address and haven't replaced it. Perhaps someone on the list has it. Each time you receive a msg, send it to the board. They will track down who this person is and have them removed from the net. They can also talk to your server and prevent that person from being able to rejoin the server under a different name. One more step I did was to change my signature and email address. I really dreaded changing it because of all the people I had contact with, and the lists I was on at the time, but it really turned out to be relatively easy. I spent about 30 minutes unsubscribing and resubing under the new address and sent a blanket msg. to the people I wanted to hear from, giving them my new address. It's really much easier than you would think. The last step I did was use an address that did not contain my real name or gave any indication where I was from. My previous server had the name of my town in its address so I changed from that server. I give my name and where I am to very few people now. In talking to others, (and, BTW I am a psychologist) and drawing from my own education and experience, I decided that a "Cyberstalker" is truly a sick person who has a large measure of control over their victims---not to mention making them start looking under their beds at night! It is this control, through fear, which feeds their souls and keep them going. You must decide for yourself if you wish to be the victim or the victor. When we take steps to protect ourselves, we are the victor and we are the one in control. Just as we were able to put aside our fears of the "bogey man" which scared us as children, we can gain control over these "Cyberbogies". Good luck to you, and carry a flashlight! LCranston
