I am not sure about the medals, however, you could try the National Personnel Records Center, 9700 Page Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132. It seems to me there is a charge if the request is from someone other than the person who is entitled to it, plus I think you also need to be able to prove they are entitled to it. However, from the sound of your e-mail it appears you may already know which medals your relative is entitled to. If this is the case, those medals then could be purchased at a military collectibles type store or a surplus store that sells military type items. Sometimes even antique malls have them. Sadly I saw a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for sale in booth at a antique mall. I make shadow boxes of red oak and my medals are to be passed down to my youngest daughter who is in the Army now.
