    3. Information submitted to the Ancestral File is added to that file for anyone to use, no LDS temple ordinances are done for anyone submitted that way. It is a tool for bringing together those researching the same lines. Temple work is only done on files submitted to the Church by a totally different method. ---------- From: marcia collins[SMTP:mcollins@sfths.sft434.k12.ks.us] Sent: Thursday, June 18, 1998 6:04 PM To: GenTips-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: Ancestral File (was: Re: FTM vs. Copyright) Well folks, at the risk of asking a dumb question, IF you submit a GEDCOM to LDS, Does this, or does this not then allow for them to be baptized or sealed? into the Mormon church. now, the reason I ask this is..I found an ancestral file via the LSD church. There is a date of Baptism into the Church, and the name of the submitted. I have made contact with the submittor, she is NOT Mormon, and had no idea how the sealed, baptized thing happened. ( the ancestor was a Baptist minister) While I am not unduly upset by this, and I do not want this to be a religious debate, the question remains? Who decides when or if a group of ancestors become sealed into the Mormon Church?
