This is something that I think we all have to deal with.  I'm re-starting my project of organizing all I have collected.  It is a slow and painful process because I wasn't very good about keeping up with it.  This has been going on for about 3 years.  *argh*  A book that I've found useful with good tips and suggestions is Beverly DeLong Whitaker's Beyond Pedigrees: Organizing and Enhancing Your Work. Thanks to those who responded to my copying of birth certificates questions. And thanks to Linda Haas Davenport for the great information on research in courthouses!  Wow!  You sound extremely organized and that makes me wonder what type of system you use for your paper and documents filing?
