I have hundreds of old photos that I want to use in my family tree. Becase many are on some type of hard material and in album format I took the photos I wanted to use and had them copied at Staples and Office Max. The cost is less than a dollar a page the quality is photo quality and I have put the originals (including tin-types) back into safe storage. My scanner does ok but the quality I get from Photo Copies are great. Try just one to see if you like it. They can also lighten and darken your photo. You are charged only for the one you want. By the time I use all the ink and wear on my printer by doing them on the scanner, Staples is just as cost effective. Bette
