Hi everyone, This is the first time I am writing to you all.. I am new to this geneology bit and am in need of some help. I am having a hard time locating the name of my grandfather.. I know this much about my family: My fathers name is David Gene Irwin born in montgomery LA 3 nov 1954 My grandfathers name is Edwin Boothy Irwin born 21 nov 1915 and died 2 dec 1977. My grandfather is 1/2 choctaw indian and white. My great grandfather is full choctaw is all I know.. His name may possibly be Bill ? Irwin.. I know he died in Alexandria or Colfax LA in a riot.. How do I go about finding out my great grandfathers real name? and how do I find out if my grand father and great grand father were registared indians?
