Start with what you know....so with yourself, your children, your parents ect...then ask your parents for help with their families...then go to your grandparents aunts uncles, cousins etc...check for marriage certificates, death certificates, birth certificates, family bibles, (old pictures) sometimes elders wrote down names of those in the pictures and the year and the ages....some good sites to check out are www.lineages.com, www.genrecords.com, www.familytreemaker.com, www.familysearch.org.
