Dear Janis, I have in my posession a small piece of paper that belonged to my great-grand father, it is a receipt for a set of four plots in a little cemetary in Wood County , Ohio and it is dated before 1880. So I guess, depending on the type of cemetary, there would be some type of record of the "transaction" alloting our little green acre for our final resting place. Diane
