I simply do not know the steps I should now take! I know there is a wealth of information on this list..so let me test your 'puzzle power'. Celia Sanders Lanier b. aprox 1826 as in 1850 Ouchita Co AR. census she was 21. Married to Richard BUSSELL also 21 with 2 month old daughter. 21 would seem an older age to begin a family for a woman in those times, correct? I have NEVER found them in 1870, though I know they were in TX 1874 and Pineveill Missouri 1863. I have followed them well from that point on. My hunt is for Celia! I do not know if SANDERS is Middle or maiden name. I have not found evidence for either question. I DO know that she was ALWAYS referred to by family as Celia Sanders Lanier..So much so that I feel there must be SOME significance to this. The SANDERS are much allied with the BUSSELL'S, and all seem to end in TEXAS and NEW MEXICO. It has been said Celia had a sister named Elizabeth Hicks Lanier...and Also that Celia ALWAYS wore long black braids, and was Indian Looking. Well, if she was Indian, I have NOT found her on a DAWES or similar roll, nor her children. 1880 Ellis Co TX census she was referred to as MRS.. This could be because the nieghbor gave the inf. and did not know, correct? It had been told me it could be as Indian had there own census..IS this correct, and would it explain MRS. differently? I DO know that Celia's children were STRONG Baptist..On there obits in the late 1930/s the date of 'converversion' is stated on All 6 adult children..Is this the Norm for that age, OR does is mean they were the product of a Missionary school perhaps, leading BACK to Indian? Two of the Men (children of Richard and Celia) became Baptist preachers, I know this from obits, but CANNOT find a record one of it. I simply do not have the knowledge of what records are available, or what question to now ask!! I would like some input on WHERE to now search for answers. Thank you So much Marcia Moore Collins Beware the Jaberwawk! he may be your Ancestor!
