Hi Jackie: Been there done that so to speak. Here is something you can do. You can create another file from your original and give it a different name. Then go to each person who is still living and leave the birth dates blank as with the marriage dates. Course, these dates are really a matter of public record. As you have probably noticed with FTM CDs, they use the term "Private" for dates of those people still living. I presently have my original file and those files sent to me from "newly" discovered cousins. I created one new file called Family and then started appending the other files into it. Since some of these other cousins are from collateral lines, I had asked if anyone would object to my posting of the info to FTM or on the net. A couple came back and said okay if the living were not included. Others didn't respond. Playing it safe I went no further. However, I do have my original file and that I will post as I do not have that many collateral lines in it or either I do not have that much information from the collateral line. Of the bloodline cousins, I have had no problems there since myself and only one other cousin has been doing any research on the Basden name. Amazing how large this family is and no one knew anything until I started stumbling along<g>. I had met cousins last year I never knew before and introduced them to each other as cousins and they were not even aware of the fact they were cousins, but yet they knew each other previously. I'm sure there is a better way to do it than what I suggested, but I have the tendenancy to try and use the easiest and quickest method rather than the most technical.
