A copy of a DD 214 is required in order for a veteran to be buried in a national cemetery.  This form is used to determine whether the individual is entitled to burial as character of service and type of discharge must be Honorable. To answer your question, the DD214 would be a summary of that individual's military career.  As far as other type of information, they are the same as private cemeteries.
