Subject: Problems When Subscribing to the Digest Someone wrote: > It sure seems like a lot of people are quitting this digest. Could it be >that it is not useful or fuctionable anymore?? I am using the digest version on several lists to cut down on the volume of emails to read through. It is often difficult to determine who the sender of each of the senders is though. When you get the digest list the messages they are numbered with their subject at the top of the digest. But each message is then just divided by a line with no clue to the originator or subject (or it's number) unless the postee included that in the body of the message. (And if they forget to change the subject title...) I try to be mindful of this when posting to the list, but I have to admit I forget sometimes. Often on lists such as GenTips and GenNewbie there are over 20 messages to each digest. The farther down the list the message is, the harder it becomes to figure out which one (listed at the top) it is. I have sometimes decided not to reply to a message because I couldn't figure out who had sent it and it did not seem like it needed to be posted for everyone on the list.
