    3. Hello Nancy and Listers, I'm a pack-rat, and like most of us, have collected file drawers and boxes full of materials related to the various families in my tree. I picked up used 3 ring binders at garage sales for about 25 cents each. I buy boxes of archivally safe plastic sleeves (250/box) at a discount chain (Sam's Club), and archivally safe paper and photo corners at a local office supply. I use a safe glue to fasten (lightly) articles, documents, etc. to pages and insert in a plastic sleeve. The adhesive allows items to be removed and re-arranged. By using the plastic sleeve for each page, you can re-arrange your books as you find items that need to be inserted as you go. I keep a family together until a child marries and then begin a book for them. I decopaged fabric to the outside of each binder to "dress" it up a bit. (Also helps me locate the book I want)Do use clear fingernail polish or some kind of sealer to cover the brads that hold the binder spine or they may rust over time and leak thru the fabric. I've included a history of the state/province, county/Kreis/township, village/city where each family came from and where they lived. I also developed a time-line for each family including events such as births, baptisms, confirmations, marriages, deaths, movements of the family, celebrations, etc.....any important event in the life of a family. (Old diaries really help if you're lucky enough to have them). Hope this helps a bit. Audrey
