This is out there on eBay right now. Only 30 minutes left to the auction. No one has bid on it yet. This is a genealogical record of the descendants of Richard Tea who was born in London, England in 1731 and sailed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1746 on the ship "Mercury". He married the widow of William Mayberry (who was the ironmaster at Hereford Furnace) and became an Ironmaster, surveyor, and one of the Supreme Executive Councilors for the State. Births, deaths, and marriages of family are listed--with the most recent date being 1973. Surnames include: Hirsch, Rohrbach, Boone, Conrad, Scheiry, Astheimer, Moyer, Gottshall, Hansen, Price. An excellant reference for anyone researching Berks County & vicinity. Cl ick here: eBay-AOL item 393126564 (Ends Aug-02-00 16:58:04 PDT) - genealogy DESCENDANTS OF RICHARD TEA booklet

Kay: Have you contacted the state archives or Library for the information? If it was a state run institution, they will know the name, and his death certificate should be on file with the state. You did not say if you had a date of death? If so, most will search a certain number of years for you. Diane
I am a little confused, is this the site that we request lookup's on above referenced CD's? Please? Sincerely, Rhonda Withers

I'm forwarding it to several lists, so if you get duplicate postings, please forgive the inconvenience. There are many, many surnames, maps, narratives, pictures (which can be enlarged & printed) In searching I didn't narrow down or limit the search fields: Typed in: (whatever state you are researching) Examples below: plantations north carolina early settlers north carolina slave owners north carolina slaves named in wills north carolina prisoners civil war north carolina quakers I didn't have a lot of luck doing a basic surname search - but many, many surnames are listed in articles: Small portion of article: example of surnames: Mrs. Lula BOWERS narrative: There was a young man come up from Savannah. He was a great dancer. He danced all the dances. Then my son-in-law danced all the dances. Dixie Box, Jimmy Box, Lillie Box, Nanny Box, and Frank Warren were the biggest dancers around Estill. Does anyone on the list have CD#507: Directory of deceased American physicians, 1804-1929 : a genealogical guide to over 149,000 medical practitioners providing brief biographical sketches drawn from the American Medical Association's Deceased Physician Masterfile I am looking for two doctors from Cleveland, OH: Dr. Thomas W. "Does anyone on the list have CD#507:" I would like a lookup also, if possible. I have an ancestor who was an MD (surgeon) during the War of 1812. He had left Ireland in the 1700s and settled in Claiborne County, TN in 1780. His name was Dr. Joseph Hamilton. Thanks to anyone who can help. Barbara
I hope this isn't a duplicate for too many people, but this was very good in describing the nature of the genealogical pox that holds so many of us :) Meg ========== As found in The Librarian's Genealogy Notebook by Dahrl Elizabeth Moore ... Warning -- Genealogy Pox Very Contagious to Adults Symptoms: Continual complaint as to need for names, dates, and places. Patient has blank expression, sometimes deaf to spouse and children. Has no taste for work of any kind, except feverishly looking through records at libraries and courthouses. Has compulsion to write letters. Swears at mail carrier when he or she doesn't leave mail. Frequents strange places such as cemeteries, ruins, and remote, desolate country areas. Makes secret night calls. Hides phone bills from spouse. Mumbles to self. Has strange, faraway look in eyes. THERE IS NO KNOWN CURE! Treatment: Medication is useless. Disease is not fatal but gets progressively worse. Patient should attend genealogy workshops, subscribe to genealogical magazines, and be given a quiet corner in the house when he or she can be alone. Remarks: The unusual nature of this disease is that the sicker the patient gets, the more he or she enjoys it.
