    1. Pat in N. TX - Grubbs
    2. Hi - A lady named Pat in N. TX posted families of Routh & Grubbs. I didn't get any location of where they resided but found some Routh's in OH and Grubbs around Linden, TX. William Grubbs b. 1837 and John L. Grubbs b. 1869 around Linden, TX. This above information is in the book "Eight Southern Families" on FTM GenealogyLibrary.com. 1. Re: Adoption
    2. But Lois, you are never to old to be adopted! If you REALLY feel you are, you could, of course, adopt us-----I am having a really warm fuzzy feeling about this group right now.  We all seem like family anyway. As a matter of fact, a lot of the members of this "family" are many times more careing and helpful than "real" family. Hugs to everyone. Gloria

    1. Re: Ison
    2. Hi - someone posted the name of Ison and stated they knew nothing more on this family. I don't know if this will be of help but on FTM in the GenealogyLibrary, I found several Ison's in Greene, Fountain, Monroe Co., Indiana birth and marriage records. Partial Ison genealogy dated 1650-1982 in the book "Genealogies by the Library of Congress since 1986 Sect. #1." Edward Ison in "Emigrant Ancestors." T.M. Ison, E.J. Ison, Thomas Ison in "Georgia Salt ListsRabun Worth Counties." The name was also spelled Isei, Isham, Isom, Izon. If the person who posted would like to contact me, I'll be happy to try and help. Please bear with me I'm fairly new to this and am sure everyone of you have much more knowledge of research than I do, so if I get off track withtrying to help out - please let me know. 1. Iowa
    2. Jennie
    3. Hello!! Haven't caught up on my reading yet, but thought I should share this. I apologize if it has already been said. I live in Iowa. Birth records can be found in the county courthouses from the time of formation to present. Birth records can also be found in the State Health Department/Bureau of Vital Statistics (don't know the exact title) for a certain year (early 1900s) to present. Believe there is a $10 fee for certified copy. There are also two locations for the Iowa State Historical Library...one in Des Moines and the other in Iowa City. The library contains early birth record information for all the counties on microfilm. The library also has many printed sources of information for each of the counties. The Iowa State Historical Library in Iowa City would be my first choice of places to start or you could contact each of the county courthouses in the area you are looking for. Don't know if they would charge you a research fee or not. I know the Library charges 10 cents per photocopy and 25 cents a microfilm copy. If anybody has any other questions about research in Iowa, please ask me. I can try to answer them. Jennie

    2. Is there room for the SHUCK, JACKSON, WEBSTER and BARBER families too? Nothing like having a big family full of hugs! Linda (this might be a double post since I think I did it wrong the first time).
