I have a question. My x-husband is telling our son that he is related to his first wife's-brothers-sons. I have told him no he is not related but would like for him to see something so he will understand. Could you send a small chart for him to see so it will be easier for him to understand. Thank you 3rd.x-wife Shirley Shirley

Add me to your reply, please. The only Chat rooms I've found are not exactly Genealogy centered. Thanks Viola Moslein ([email protected])

Hello Everyone Once Again, My Fellow GenFans.....I have been asked (and am more than willing to comply) to publish my HUGE (and still growing) list of genealogical URL's than all of you wonderful people have been sending me to replenish my Favorite Places. My question is: please--someone tell me just how I go about doing that?? I have (so far) copied & pasted several hundred on one Email, and would guess I'd just post that humongous Email to the several genealogy lists I belong to?? Does that sound right? I need--want--to share these...there is SO much valuable information just sitting here in this one BULGING Email!! Any advice, O Wise People Out There? Mary in Mich ([email protected])
Everyone: I am amazed, humbled and truly blessed.....I only wish I could somehow post every single one of the genealogy URL's and WebSites that my fellow GenFans have sent me! There must have been close to 200 in my mailbox this morning (Thursday 16th) and they are still coming in droves. I never realized how very inadequate my supply of Gen. Sites was before my computer ate them all.....thank you to all who took the time out of their busy days just to send me an Email to "re-furnish" my Favorite Places. I now have a surge protector hooked up so I never have to go through this again. I feel like a very blessed (& lucky) member of this great, huge family now! Thank you for bailing me out. I look forward to returning the favor someday soon.......:)))) Love you all, Mary in Mich ([email protected])
I am trying to locate anyone with knowledge of Thomas Henry Marks. He was born in 1848 in Springfield, Missouri. He married Lois Holland and moved to Hollandtown, Penna, which was named after her parents. Lois died August 1929 of cancer. They had 10 children. They were: Raymond, Georgianna, Joseph, Josephine, Dora, May Ida Clare, John and Clyde. If there is someone out there that can help me, thank you in advance. Marcella
Dear Fellow GenFans: (Genealogy Fanatics) When a lightening storm last Friday surged power to my CPU, not only did my computer refuse me access to the Internet, but when I finally was able to log on safely, I noticed ALL my Favorite Places were erased! Not only did I lose my entire FamilyTree work (that was my own foolhardy fault!), but ALL the sites I so carefully bookmarked to use over and over again vanished. All genealogy related, of course....:( Could I ask a favor of you out there? Could you please send me maybe one or two of your favorite genealogy URL's so I can build up my "stash" once again? I had quite a few....and to try to remember them all by myself is all but impossible....a number of then were pertaining to Lithuania and Lith. genealogy....I am hoping this request could benefit others as well. Thank you all out there....if someone can benefit from my "weekend from Hell" (learn from my mistakes) then it was well worth the head banging!! Mary in Mich ([email protected])
To all who wrote to me about my "lost" Family Tree: Thank you....thank you.....thank you! I am overwhelmed by the compassionate people out there. I felt as if I was reading sympathy cards sent to me because of a deceased loved one! and in a way, it IS like a "death" in the family.....we had a lightening storm last Friday night (in Michigan), and our power went out. I think we got quite a surge of electricity and it did something nasty to my CPU, because I couldn't log on all weekend. It kept stating I didn't "have enough memory freed up". (?) So my husband (first mistake, God bless 'im!) started to randomly delete files willy-nilly, when all of a sudden---poof!! there goes FTM down the drain, and before I could stop him, he then emptied the Recycle Bin. I DID try re-installing The Family TreeMaker, but, unfortunately, there remains only a skeleton in my family tree.......(no pun intended!) Thank you again to all of you....please learn from my mistakes! Mary in Mich ([email protected])

They are available on line, but the other evening I was able to look through five of the series at a local Border's Book Store. Knowing that they have them, I also know Borders would order the rest of the set for a customer. Barnes & Noble probably also has them. Hello, Just a note to say that there are lots of people who received hundreds of email messages each day. I know I do. When a subject line is non-specific, or references a gentips digest, many people don't even bother to take the time to open them. When responding to a posted message, it is very helpful to use the subject line of the original message (not the digest). Best wishes for a terrific day! Barb Thomas [email protected]
