    3. I think for the most part the volunteers who freely give their time to help others put up with, and more politely respond to, the kind of requests that people getting paid wouldn't allow. And sometimes, thankfully not often, those volunteers have a bad day at work, or have sick family members, or have any of the numerous frustrations, large and small, that afflict all of us. And sometimes they lose their temper or let the frustations get to them and take it out on someone inappropriately. It happens to all of us because we are all human. Expecting volunteers to +always+ give flawless responses to the frequently less than perfect requests is to expect something that no human being is capable of. You aren't always going to get the perfect answer. Maybe next time someone sends you a rude response, instead of calling them names, send them a note and say something like, "your response seemed a bit rough. Are you okay? Do you need a net.hug? Want to share it with someone?" - bet instead of it escalating into a flame war, you might make a virtual.friend. Lin Wright (who has been called a b@#$^ more than once, and sometimes with good reason, but usually, it's just that pesky humanness and the little thing called life) ethelind@athens.net -- Lin Wright ethelind@athens.net -- ethelindw@aol.com -- ethelind@arches.uga.edu
