To the group: I received a flood of email from this group in support of my mom and I. There were so many, I would rather send a thank you to the group instead of everyone individually. I only received one nasty response. (go figure) Thank you all for your thoughts. They are much appreciated. I knew that the tone and spirit of this group was awesome. And sometimes little things like this make it a stronger group. It sure feels good hearing so many positive people are out there!!! Back to the group focus: I have access to the Tacoma Public Library Northwest Room and several family history centers if anyone needs lookups. Some of the highlights are obituaries in the Tacoma News Tribune. They are in the process of being indexed and are almost complete back to the 1940s. The FHCs have the birth and death indexes for Washington. There are a lot of cemetery indexes and census index books, plus the Barbour Collection, DAR, etc. I will be in Wenatchee for a WSGS Board meeting and cemetery haunting, if anyone needs anything from there.
