Greetings all! I'm new to this list and want to introduce myself. I live in Metairie, LA, just west of New Orleans, LA. I am researching the following surnames: MADERE, DUHE, GILLIAM, BLACKMON, TROUTMAN, COX, MAHNE and WILTZ. All of these are ancestors or my wife's family. I am also researching War Between the States era Confederate units; particularly the 27th Regiment Mississippi Infantry and the Battalion Washington Artillery. In the course of this research, I was able to gain access to _The Roster of Confederate Soldiers, 1861 -1865_. I am able to do look ups for anyone needing to know the unit of a Confederate soldier. Because of the size of the roster, I am unable to look up a list of unit members, but I can do other look ups. I will have a full muster roll of both the 27th Mississippi and the Washington Artillery posted online as soon as I have them compiled.
