By all means , use the School records !! , My story ; while researching my grandfather in the Dillion Courthouse a few years ago , 1997 ( Dillon Montana ) the court clerk suggested checking wih the School District office , which was the next room over , So I did , asked if they had any thing that would help us with the family .... The Lady reached over in to the File drawer behind the office door and pulled out the Original ' School Census ' for 1903-4-5-6-7 etc , which listed every child going to school in the Beaverhead Co Schools during those years , which included my Father and all his siblings , And on the bottom of most of the pages was the Signature of my Grandfather and Grandmother !!!! , They both were the School District officials ... , So Go Get em , Phil.. ps , I am posting this to GEN-NEWBIES Too , Phil..
