These requests annoy me. At the risk of being regarded as unhelpful, I must protest those requests for lookups on someone else's WFT CDs finding their way into e-mail. I spent the money and bought these CDs and I do not appreciate other people cluttering up the e-mail systems with four and five requests for someone to look up something for them. I am always helpful when people ask me about specific family names or other items of genealogy because I feel that exchanging data is the way to research. But when I spend my hard-earned money to buy the FTM WFT CDs, why should I do someone else's work for them for family names and info that do not have anything to do with me or my family lines! This problem seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. It has permeated every message board to the extent that it makes it hard to research your own work because one is subjected to plowing through the sea of "Lookup Requests." Now it has begun to show up in e-mail messages. Those who do this clutter up the system and when one has three e-mail sites that subject me to anywhere from 400 to 600 e-mail messages a day, it goes beyond annoying and becomes downright maddening! I am sure that I will get lots of people mad at me for this statement, but I am a retired person with limited funds, and I think if you cannot find the information you are looking for the way the rest of us do, then don't bother other people! Please don't let's start with a controversy and further clog up the system with responses - either way - to my opinion. Just remember, I am entitled to it, just as you are yours. If you cannot afford to get the info you need the old fashioned way - then earn it! Anne Medlin Sendgikoski (who's not afraid to say who I am!!!)
