I am looking for information on my great grandmother Catherine Elizabeth Rogers. She was from the GA, NC, TN, area. Her mothers name was Aliza Jane Rich Rogers. Father: ? Rogers. She had brothers and sisters. Dempsy Rogers, Elvira Rogers, Ronie Rogers, Aligar (Liga) Rogers, Amanda Rogers Fox Young. She had one sister who married a Smith, they had a son Arvil Smith. If you have any information on this line of Rogers anything will be deeply appreciate. I would like to know of my great grandmothers family, who she married and so on. Also on COOK, William (willie). William Cook may have been born in Graham, CO. NC. Mother: Catherine Elizabeth Rogers Cook. Question about fathers name maybe William Henry Cook. His father work on the railroad. His mother had a small store for the RR workers. He had one sister Dora Bell Cook Ray. They were from the NC, GA, TN area. This man was my grandfather. He left his home and relocated to WV taking a new identity of William Memphis Ray. This was his brother-in-laws name that was marries to his sister Dora Bell. This was around 1918 or 1919 because in 1920 he married my grandmother in WV with his new name. Some where someone knew of this man. My mom is getting old and would love to know her fathers true identify. We grandchildren would also like to know of our own ancestors. If anyone has any information on this line of Cooks Or Rogers please E-mail me. Thank you for your time. Jerry Nan E-mail JR Nan 1 @aol. com

I saw this on another list and just had to share it with everyone (I apologize if you receive this more than once since I'm sending it to several lists). One woman wrote back that she types this poem on the back of 3x5 index cards, along with her name and address, laminates the cards and attaches them to the stems of fake flowers (or flags?) left at each of her ancestors graves. She encourages anyone interested in her idea to feel free to do the same. I, for one, intend to do just that! Maybe a long lost cousin will find it and contact me! Dear Ancestor Your tombstone stands among the rest; Neglected and alone. The name and date are chiseled out On polished, marbled stone. It reaches out to all who care It is too late to mourn. You did not know that I exist You died and I was born. Yet each of us are cells of you In flesh, in blood, in bone. Our blood contracts and beats a pulse Entirely not our own. Dear Ancestor, the place you filled One hundred years ago Spreads out among the ones you left Who would have loved you so. I wonder if you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew That someday I would find this spot, And come to visit you. I saw this poem awhile back. I have typed it up on the back of several 3 x 5 index cards, laminated them & attached them to the stems of silk flowers to leave at the graves of my various ancetors. I also add my name & address on the card, that way if another descendant happens by, they can contact me if they like.
I live in Riverside, California and would like to swap with someone in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. (Calverton, Riverhead, Cutchogue, Mattituck, Southold and Greenport cemeteries and churches.) Thanks! Kathy Latham

Tom Langford has an impressive site of passenger lists: http://www.primenet.com/~langford/ and The Olive Tree also has many passenger lists - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ote/
I don't know if you are a member, but the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) lending library has several books on the ship and descendants of passengers. Try www.nehgs.org Some of the books in the library are listed there.
