It seems likely that George King had mortgages on all of that property. Foreclosure of a mortgate on a piece of property often results in the sale of that property in an auction conducted by the sheriff. In any event, the sale of each tract of land sold should have been recorded in the deed records along with the details of why, when, etc. the forced sales took place.
