This sort of thing does happen (person reported 'deceased' having to 'prove' they are alive). A friend of mine almost lost her mind trying to straighten this out. Just going in to the SS office was not sufficient to end it. She wrote and called this person and that for a few months trying to resolve the problem; it took about three months to the point where she was receiving benefits again. Our government (people) does make mistakes. And it seems that sometimes it is easier to refer the 'problem' to someone else. SadieOkate3@aol.com
