Ron, the SSA began computerizing its master death index in October of 1962. It appears that they did enter all (or most) of the deaths reported to it earlier that year. At one time an effort was being made to enter deaths from previous years, but that came to a screeching halt with budget deficits. I think I red that far less than 1 percent of the SSDI are for deaths prior to 1962. Regards, Richard "Richard A. Pence" <richardpence@pipeline.com>
