Correction - > Magyar means Hungarian - the language or > the ethic group that should read ethnic group. Magyar were the main inhabitants of the Kingdom of Hungary. After WWI, the Kingdom of Hungary was divided up. I guess the intent of the census was to find out what exactly was the ethnic origin of the people being enumerated. If the term Hungarian was used, that could have meant Austrian, or German or anyone else who was living in the area now [1920] called Hungary.
