If you go to this page - http://usa.ipums.org/usa/voliii/inst1920.shtml you will find the enumerator instructions for the 1920 census. Scroll down to #146 and you will see a list of the official languages that should have been used by the enumerator. I would deduce from this strike through that the enumerator wrote Hungarian when he filled out the sheet and later, either he or someone in an office somewhere corrected it to Magyar, which is the official term listed in the above section.
