I am wanting to purchase transcribed census cd's [not images because most are scanned out of focus and I cannot read them no matter how much I zoom or what filter I use]. So, where do I buy transcribed census cd's? And, is their a kind soul who already owns one who would be willing to do a few searches for me? Thanks,

There are census indexes, but with minimal data recorded and usually only heads-of-household listed. Check the Heritage Quest, Ancestry, and FamilyTreeMaker websites. One I know of for the USA is the 1880 Federal Census published by the LDS Family History Center.
www.familysearch.org ?? Where do I go on that web site to search the 1880 census index? PS How much time do you think it would take me to fully transcribe the 1900 Hamilton County TN census? What do you expect to gain from a transcription? Donna
