Would SKS tell me how to get the Griffiths Index CD-rom to work. I have the Family Archive Viewer installed but cannot work out how to install the Griffiths cd if it needs installing at all or how to get the thing to open if no installation is required. All I can see on the Griffiths cd files is an Epoc installation file which has little to do with pc operation and several data files but no setup file. Any help will be appreciated I'm using IE6 and Windows XP Home edition. Brian

Is it the "An Index to Griffith's Valuation, 1848-1864" CD-ROM, sold by GPC, that you're trying to read? If so, you may want to read the review of it published nearly four years ago in the newsletter of the British Interest Group of Wisconsin and Illinois (BIGWILL). The BIGWILL home page is <http://rootsweb.com/~wiilbig/>; click on the link to "Reviews of books and CD-ROMs related to British Isles Genealogy," then go to the title index. This index is alphabetically arranged; look in the I's (Index). The reviewer discussed the limitations of the viewing software and the fact that searching worked much better with later versions of the viewing software. Rollie Littlewood BIGWILL webmaster
