I have just received a "story" from my aunt saying that my ggm had an ongoing affair and that my gm and 2 of her siblings are not truely related to the man I always thought was my ggf! I have asked all of my other aunts & uncles, and this particular aunt seems to be the only one who was privy to this "secret". She is not the most reliable source of information - considered the family trouble maker and in the past has "invented" things to gain attention. But still, I am concerned... Anyone ever run across this kind of situation? Thanks, Jak -- ******************** It is better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees ~Dolores Ibarruri get the heck outta there to reply ******************** -- ******************** It is better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees ~Dolores Ibarruri get the heck outta there to reply ********************

I think my aunt's direct quote went something like "mom always claimed that Mr. ------- was not her father." -- ******************** It is better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees ~Dolores Ibarruri get the heck outta there to reply ********************

Given the social stigma of an adulterous affair (especially one that produced offspring) I suspect that there might have been some attempt to keep it off the records, if possible. After all, who is to say that any given infant actually does not have the father that was named by the mother . . . This may be one of those mysteries that you will never unravel. You might have been better off never having heard of that rumor--especially in view of the apparent lack of credibility of your source. Larry
