    3. I am able to find the person I want to research on the Ellis Island site and the ship's manifest. Using http://home.pacbell.net/spmorse/ellis/ellis.html Problem: After entering the name sought I am given results which I click on to reach the screen where I register, etc., and finally the original ship's manifest. This is fantastic BUT [and I quote from the page with the manifest] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Important! Please Read! Many manifests extend over 2 pages. The first page shows the passenger's name. The second page shows other information and does not have the passenger's name. You must purchase each page separately. There is a fee for each page. Pages may not appear in order. Use Previous and Next to move between pages. Check to be sure you are on the page you want.; ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - I have gone forward until I reach the next ship. backward until I reach the previous ship - all pages are the left side of the manifest. None I can find are the right sides [the second page referred to above]. Has anyone found any of these second pages? The statement implies they can be found in order to be ordered. -- Please help me if you have a way to see this additional information. Jayne W. Dye

Dye Some more detail about the name, date, and ship would help; but maybe there is no additional information. Some of the earlier manifests were only a single page. --

    3. Ques: find apparent 'left page' but not the 'right page': Ellis Island Ships' manifests. ---- Name is Ernest Mickleborough age 20 merchant from London - line 731 on the manifest of 'The Germania' docking on August 22, 1985. ---- The suggestion that there may have been only one page at that time makes good sense. Since asking my question I have researched other ships manifests and if there are two pages it is obvious from the heading on the pages. The heading has been left off these pages - or perhaps there was no heading either. I am going to look for more manifests of the year 1895 - have found two others that seem to have only one page also, thus far. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Jayne
