    3. Hello fellow listers. I found my ancestor, Jacob Berst and his daughter Catherine living in the City of Newport (Campbell County) in the 1850 census for KY. I need to know if there is any way to figure out where they lived by this census entry. I have been several reels of film searching for a death record for Jacob (he died between 1850-60) and it would help to narrow down his church if I knew where he lived. Thank you, Buffy & Trixie

    3. Usually census takers would do all the households in neighborhood, or near each other before moving onto the next area. I've had some luck getting the names of the neighbors from the census and then going into land records and seeing if I can identify where in the county some or all of the people owned property. Another source to look in would be city directories for the area if there are any. That could give you an address that you could compare with a map and then look for nearby churches. Hope this helps Patty Buffys97 wrote: > Hello fellow listers. > > I found my ancestor, Jacob Berst and his daughter Catherine living in > the City of Newport (Campbell County) in the 1850 census for KY. > > I need to know if there is any way to figure out where they lived by > this census entry. > > I have been several reels of film searching for a death record for > Jacob (he died between 1850-60) and it would help to narrow down his > church if I knew where he lived. > > Thank you, Buffy & Trixie
