    3. but..... you could benefit ( and make your own decision) based on others experiences.. I use the following method to stored scanned images on my hard disk.. You might use the same for paper stuff in REAL folders.. Family tree data + +-----"birth family name", ( "married family name") , "Given name" eg Yellow, (Blue) Emily for Emily born a "Yellow" and married into the "Blue" family. If Emily married again, then it might look like.... Yellow, (Blue, Red) Emily Food for thought anyway.. gl Colin Charles <X@triad.rr.com> wrote in message news:pan.2002.01.15.22.35.36.904502.11492@triad.rr.com... > On Tue, 15 Jan 2002 20:35:29 -0500, C'est moi wrote: > > > If I'm filing papers according to surname, would it make more sense to > > file a document for a married woman under her married name or maiden > > name??? > > > > I'm leaning towards the married name because that's the one that the > > document has on it, but then she's in my genealogy program with her > > maiden name (although the married name is quickly discernible). > > I think that'd be entirely up to you - who else would care?
